PROTECTING PRIVACY, EMPOWERING INDIANS
The seriousness of data protection and securing privacy is evident today and the Government of India is cognizant of this fact. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India has constituted a Committee of Experts on Data Protection. The Committee of Experts has submitted its report and draft Personal Data Protection Bill, which are available on MeitY website. This is a step forward towards a digital economy.

The Report of the Committee of Experts under the Chairmanship of Justice B. N. Srikrishna highlights that India can shape the global digital landscape in the 21st century, by formulating a legal framework relating to personal data not only for India, but for Indians that can work as a template for the developing world.
